Take the classic Harrison Burgeron focusing on the danger in lack of uniqueness, with the message of accepting and welcoming individuals’ differences. Another example would be The Pedestrian, another classic, warning about our society becoming too dependent on technology that we loose ourselves and purpose. Between these historic dystopias and the modern ones of popularity, dystopian settings/worlds serve as political and/or social warnings to what the author worries could happen to our society.
