Which detail but supports the team that oppression can make alternative seem impossible select two options animal farm
8_murik_8 [283]

I found the complete question online. I will not post the whole excerpt here because it is too long. But I will add the answer choices I found:

Which details best support the theme that oppression can make alternatives seem impossible? Select TWO options:

A. "This was not what they had aimed at when they had set themselves years ago to work for the overthrow of the human race."

B. "If she herself had had any picture of the future, it had been of a society of animals set free from hunger and the whip."

C. ". . . they were far better off than they had been in the days of Jones, and that before all else it was needful to prevent the return of the human beings."

D. "She would remain faithful, work hard, carry out the orders that were given to her, and accept the leadership of Napoleon."

E. ". . . each working according to his capacity, the strong protecting the weak, as she had protected the lost brood of ducklings with her foreleg on the night of Major's speech."

Answer:

The details are:

A. "This was not what they had aimed at when they had set themselves years ago to work for the overthrow of the human race."

D. "She would remain faithful, work hard, carry out the orders that were given to her, and accept the leadership of Napoleon."

Explanation:

"Animal Farm" is an allegorical novella published in 1945. Its author was George Orwell, a British novelist who lived from 1903 to 1950.

The passage we are analyzing here concerns Clover's thoughts. She is a mare that lives in animal farm and, along with the other animals, that has helped kick out their former human owner. The farm now belongs to the animals.

After their rebellion, the animals believed an equal society would be formed, one in which everyone would contribute to the welfare of everyone else. However, that is not what is happening. The pig Napoleon has become a dictator. He has privileges, and he bosses the other animals around as if they were his slaves. Things have gotten so bad that Napoleon has started killing animals who rebel against him or who disobey his orders.

Clover is utterly disappointed, but she has no choice. She is living under Napoleon's oppression. She sees no alternative but to keep on obeying, working hard, and trying her best, even though she is quite aware that things are not the way they were supposed to be. And the answer choices that best represent that are letters A and D.

German soldiers- with their steel helmets and their death’s- head
Mamont248 [21]

Answer:

After Looking Up This Im Assuming Your Question Meant To Be "Explain the effect of the juxtaposition in the following lines: "ANGUISH. German soldiers- with their steel helmets and their death's-head emblem. Still, our first impressions of the Germans were rather reassuring."

Explanation:

The Germans were initially somewhat "low key" when they first came into the ghetto. Yet, everything about their appearance suggested that they were bringers of death. The people of the ghetto did not want to assume the worst, even when all the evidence was negative.

Argue for or against the limitation of speed limits.
Ipatiy [6.2K]
Since this is an opinion question you can take it either way.

Pros:
- lower speed may cause lower speed accidents, which are less deadly than their high speed alternatives
- lower speed could potentially allow people to get lost less often because they are able to navigate and respond earlier
- gas savings from optimal operating conditions (between 88.5 - 96.5 km/h [55-60 mph])

Cons:
- longer commute times
- less enjoyable (if you enjoy driving fast)
- may contribute to overall congestion and increase in accidents as people spend more time on average on the roads

Either way, support our opinion and you'll be right.

Can someone help me write a poem like this one:
Crazy boy [7]

Answer:

If you always try your best

then you'll never have to wonder

About what you could have done

If you'd summoned all your thunder

And if all your best

Was not

As you hoped it would be

You still could say

I gave all today

All that I had in me
