Sherman instituted a plan of total war in which everything he came across was burned and destoryed. He tore up rail road ites, burned crops, killed farm animals, and destoryed the way of life of the poeple of Georgia .He burned eveyrhting in his site leaving behind land that was hard to grow crops on destroyed homes and destroyed factories an cities. He cirppled the economy of Georgia
