The rhyme of Hand-Band, and the meter of the verses where you can read it so you end on the perfect rhyme of hand and band, its what brings attention to the ending of the sentence, this way the author makes it easier for the reader to undersand the message that he wants to send.

Hmm, I think its either C or D. I'm pulling towards D though,  because when reading it definitely draws your attention to "hand" and "band"
