in what ways did expansion of european commerce between 1648 and 1815 represent a continuity frm the previous period
KATRIN_1 [288]

Based on historical perspective, how the expansion of European commerce between 1648 and 1815 represents continuity from the previous period include "<u>conquered lands to accommodate the growing populations</u>."

The previous period before 1648 to 1815, can be considered to be around 1500 to 1648.

This period was characterized by the growing populations of Europe, the discovery of nearby lands, improvement in trading activities among the European countries, and the accumulation of wealth, among others.

Thus, from 1648 to 1815, Europe tried to expand its trading activities and diversify its population by moving towards the west to get more gold and land resources.

This leads to the formation of imperialism of Europe in America between 1648 to, 1815 thereby continuing their previous expansion.

Hence, in this case, it is concluded that the expansion of European commerce between 1648 and 1815 represents continuity from the previous period in many ways.

Explain how James Madison and Thomas Jefferson illustrated the continued American spirit of rebellion after independence and the
satela [25.4K]

Jefferson and Madison would create the Democratic-Republican political party to be a voice for the common man against the elite Federalist party. The two men fought laws and policies enacted by Washington and Adams when they believed they violated the Constitution and the rights established by the Bill of Rights.

One example of this was Jefferson's writing of the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions in regard to the Whiskey Tax. Though written anonymously, he suggest the states (the people) were allowed to nullify, or ignore, federal laws that the people did not agree with. He suggest it was in the rights of the people to refuse to pay the whiskey tax.

Jefferson and Madison were both outspoken about their disagreement with the passage of the Alien and Sedition Acts by John Adams. Jefferson would overturn the acts after becoming the third president of the US. Madison also stood against John Adams in regard to the "midnight-appointments" which was an expansion of the federal court system. Madison refused to issue the confirmations of the judges causing one to take Madison to court in the famous case, Marbury v. Madison.
