Answer:

468.5 in

(??? gonna be honest I'm not sure its right but gave it a shot so apologies if I gave u a wrong answer)

Step-by-step explanation:

(this is how I did it, like I said, not sure its right)

Dotted line:

we need to find the length of the dotted line in order to be able to calculate the area of the rectangle

radius = 8 in

diameter (dotted line)

               = 8 x 2

               = 16 in

(radius is half the diameter so now you know the length of the dotted line is 16 in - this answer is for the rectangle)

Area of the rectangle

A = L x W

using the 16 we found to calculate the area of the rectangle

                A = 23 x 16

                A = 368 in

Area of semi-circle:

Now to calculate the area of the semi-circle

A = π r² ÷ 2

             A = π 8² ÷ 2

                 = 100.48

Adding the area of the rectangle and semi-circle together:

               = 100.48 + 368

               = 468.48

        1dp = 468.5

tried to explain it as well as possible

sorry if its wrong

-6.2 - 12.6x = 5.8 - 7.8x
Sav [38]

Answer:

x = -2.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Write equation

-6.2 - 12.6x = 5.8 - 7.8x

Step 2: Solve for x

Add 12.6x on both sides: -6.2 = 5.8 + 4.8x

Subtract 5.8 on both sides: -12 = 4.8x

Divide both sides by 4.8: x = -2.5

Step 3: Check

Plug in x to verify if it's a solution.

-6.2 - 12.6(-2.5) = 5.8 - 7.8(-2.5)

-6.2 + 31.5 = 5.8 + 19.5

25.3 = 25.3
