Biology

Explanation:

The alveoli are lined with mucus and are surrounded by a network of blood capillaries. They have very thin walls for gases to be absorbed through. An individual air sac is called an alveolus. The layer of moisture in the alveoli allows gases to dissolve so that they can diffuse quickly.

Goryan [66]

I just took the test this would be the correct answer.

In the Precipitation Map of Washington, the dark orange section indicates low rainfall in the region. Using the Shaded Relief Map of Washington, you can tell that this area is flat, possibly a plain. These regions typically don't receive a lot of rain. The Precipitation Map of Washington has areas that are dark purple and dark green. This indicates that they both receive a lot of rainfall every year. If you look at these areas on the Shaded Relief Map of Washington, you can tell that these areas with a lot of rainfall are mountainous.

On the Precipitation Map of Washington, purple/blue means more rain, and orange/red means less rain. The Shaded Relief Map of Washington shows mountains (brown), valleys, plateaus, and canyons. Areas that are flat are smooth on the map. Areas with steep slopes and mountains look rougher.

The net annual primary productivity of a particular wetland ecosystem is found to be 8,000 kcal/m2 per year. If respiration by t
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

D.20,000

Explanation:

The Gross Annual Primary Productivity for the wetland ecosystem is the amount of carbon taken up by the aquatic producers through photosynthesis.

Given that: Net Annual Primary Producer is 8,000 kcal/m2 per year, and respiration by the aquatic producers is 12,000 kcal/m2 per year, using the formula NPP = GPP – Respiration, we can determine the Gross Annual Primary Productivity of the wetland ecosystem.

NNP = 8,000 kcal/m2

Respiration = 12,000 kcal/m2

GPP = x

8,000 = x – 12,000 (NPP = GPP – Respiration)

Solve for x:

x = 8,000 + 12,000

x = 20,000 kcal/m2 per year

GPP = 20,000 kcal/m2 per year

The Mesozoic Era is marked by dramatic evolutionary activity. What factor best set the stage for the dramatic development of ins
Reptile [31]

Answer:

  • The era is characterized by having one of the most diverse environment that the earth could have ever seen, as there were number of species of dinosaurs and there were different plant life as well, and the climate was not so cold to live for the different organisms.
  • As, the life on earth flourish even there were organisms found on large scale inside the arctic circle.While, the level of CO₂ increased inside the Mesozoic era. Along , with which the extinction of about 96 percent of life made it very difficult for the rest of the organisms to survive and thus there were now mutations happening inside the different organisms genome.Along, with that the way of reproduction was greatly changed inside the plants, as more effective form of flowering plants were evolved.
  • As, for the animals new species with the increase level of survival instinct were evolved from old simple ones across the globe.
