After a bit of research I came up with this answer, science fiction literature has affected society significantly. Science fiction has inspired many people to search for careers in science. They want to find a way to create the things they read about in books. Those people that are inspired created many inventions such as artificial intelligence and rockets as well as many more scientific break throughs we see today. In my opinion, science fiction influences technology every time a new book is written. In a website I found about “How Does Science Fiction Influence the Real World?” it states “Science fiction literature has affected society significantly. It has inspired many to pursue careers in science which has, in turn, resulted in advancements in technology such as the developments in cloning, rockets, artificial intelligence, satellites, wireless internet, etc.” A research report from the University of Hawaii has shown “not only that science fiction plays a significant role, but that its impact is on the increase.”
