The Treaty of Versailles included several terms such as:

the occupation of the Rhineland by Allied troops;

Germany was forced to pay reparations for the war as well as accept responsibility for World War I;

and its territory was reduced in size. 

The Treaty of Versailles was the most important of the peace treaties that put an end to the World War I. The Treaty ended the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers. The treaty was signed on 28 June 1919 in Versailles.
