Answer:

122.09 (the answer may change depending on how many decimals you need if you need more or less just follow the steps using however many decimals)

Step-by-step explanation:

to get the other triangle side do 18-11= 7

then use the Pythagoras theorem to solve for the other side so 7^2+b^2=11^2

49+b^2= 121

121-49= b^2

72=b^2

b= 8.48(simplified)

then use that side to get the area of the rectangle:

8.42×11=92.62

then get area of the triangle:

1/2(8.42×7)=29.47

add the 2 areas to get total area:

92.62+29.47=122.09

The graph of linear function g is shown on the grid. What is the zero of g? (-8,3) (-3,-4.5)
Ratling [72]

Answer:

Zero of the function = (-6, 0)

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the equation of the function given in the graph is,

y = mx + b

where m = slope of the line passing through two points (x_1,y_1) and (x_2,y_2) = \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

b = y-intercept of the line

From the graph attached,

Slope of the line passing through (-8, 3) and (-3, 4.5) = \frac{-4.5-3}{-3+8} = -1.5

y - intercept 'b' = -9

Therefore, equation of the line will be,

y = -1.5x - 9

Function representing this line will be,

g(x) = -1.5x - 9

Zeros of the given function will be,

g(x) = 0 Or x-intercept

-1.5x - 9 = 0

x = -6

Therefore, zero of the given function is (-6, 0).
