Cell wall
The cell wall of the plant cell protects it, and maintains the framework and shape. This cell wall is an important part of the cell because it draws the internal and external elements within and without the cell. This structure serves as the rough edge and why plants have this thick structure outside when you try to feel it.
Cacti had to adapt to absorb the proper amount of water needed to grow and thrive in a dry climate. Cacti have adapted to absorb moisture from their surroundings and store it inside. This allows cacti to properly distribute water when they need it for development and survival. This also prevents the cacti from dying during especially dry times, as it can release water that it has stored.
I hope this helps! :)
