Advances in science and technology have contributed significantly to the production of food in the world. Production capacity in agriculture has grown by 2.5 to 3 times over the past 50 years. This allowed, at a global level, that the increase in food production accompany the population increase.

An example of how technology has contributed to the increase in food production in the world is Transgenia. Through transgenic seeds, it was possible to plant crops that are more resistant to pests and to periods of drought, in addition, the transgenic crop has created crops with greater productivity. This has contributed greatly to the increase in food production.

Another example is the use of increasingly technological agricultural machinery, which can carry out agricultural work faster and more efficiently, reducing agricultural losses and contributing to increased production.

One example would be the chemicals they use in the soil to make the plants grow faster and another example would be chemicals they use to kill pest so they wont eat the crops or you could say bioengineering has enhanced the crops

A bacteria culture begins with 15 bacteria which double in amount at the end of every hour. How many bacteria are grown during t
pochemuha
Here is a list showing how the bacteria grows:

Begin - 15
1st hour - 30
2nd hour - 60
3rd hour - 120
4th hour - 240
5th hour - 480
6th hour - 960
7th hour - 1,920
8th hour - 3,840
9th hour - 7,680
10th hour - 15,360
11th hour - 30,720
12th hour - 61,440

As you can see, the number of bacteria present is doubled at the end of each hour, as the question states. However, the question is not asking for the total number of bacteria at the end of the 12th hour; it is asking for the bacteria GROWN during the 12th hour.

Because there were 30,720 bacteria at the end of the 11th hour, and 61,440 at the end of the 12th, the number of bacteria that grew during that last hour must be 61,440 - 30,720 = 30,720 bacteria.

(P.S. the answer would be 61,440 if it was asking for the TOTAL number of bacteria at the end of the 12th hour)

Zepler [3.9K]

The question, which is what the researcher wants to know, could be the following: What is the effect of the change in available food sources on the birds' feeding habits?

What are the steps of the scientific method?

There are different steps to follow in a scientific method

  • Definition and problem statement. The question for which there is no answer yet. A question the investigator wants to answer.

  • Goal specification. The goal is what the investigator wants to know.

  • Hypothesis formulation. The researcher hypothesizes in order to predict what is going on or what is expected to occur.

  • Experiment. Different variables influencing the project are considered. Data collection and analysis stages. This step involves testing the observations.

  • Results

  • Discussion and hypothesis verification. This step involves the deriving of the working hypothesis.

  • Conclusions.

In the exposed example, the experiment involves watching the birds feed, and then removing fruit to simulate an environmental change.

The independent variable here is the food source availability.

The dependent variable is the birds' response to the change.

The question, which is what the researcher wants to know, could be as follows,

What is the effect of the change in available food sources on the birds' feeding habits?
