Critical listening: It is a form of listening that is responsible for evaluating the content of a specific message.

Similarities: Critical thinking engages highly active listening to improve critical thinking skills. Critical listening involves independent & reflective thinking.

Difference: Critical thinking involves the process through which individuals quantitatively and qualitatively assess specific information they tend to accumulate whereas Critical listening allows individuals to collect information in a certain way that tends to promote successful communication and critical thinking.
