William James was a famous American philosopher / Psychologist whose contribution tot he field earned him the nickname of "Father of American Psychology".
At the time of his career, American knowledge regarding our brain and how memory was formed was still very limited. In one of his project, William proposed a memory model that tried to explain how Humans accumulate our memories.
He believed that every data that we accumulate from our decisions in the past will be stored in our memory. Every humans will use their memory to obtain the most positive outcomes for our future decisions.
