Can someone explain step by step how to do this. Thanks

Hi there! The answer is k = 16

To find our answer we only need to collect the terms. In other words: we need to subtract all the values of k.

Example:
18k - 11k = 7k

If you don't get this, you can try to understand it by using a story: in a cage, there are 18 koalas, 11 of them leave. How many are left?

18 koalas - 11 koalas = 7 koalas
18 k - 11 k = 7 k

Now we keep doing this again and again to find our final answer:

18k - 11k - 4k - 2k = 16 \\ 7k - 4k - 2k = 16 \\ 3k - 2k = 16 \\ 1k = 16 \\ k = 16

~Hope this helps you!

If the area of a triangular prism is 300 and the height is 3 what is the area of the base?
evablogger [386]
The volume of any prism is given by
.. V = Bh . . . . B is the area of the base, h is the height

You have
.. 300 = B*3
.. 300/3 = B = 100

The area of the base is 100 square units.

If someone could please help me, I want to make sure that the steps are correct.
Leya [2.2K]
Your answer would be the last option, c = √(E/m).

We can see this when we rearrange the equation, as:

E = mc²
÷ m
E/m = c²
√
√(E/m) = c

So you got all the steps in rearranging correct :)

I hope this helps!

PLEASE HELP!! A tennis ball machine serves a ball vertically into the air from a height of two feet, with an initial speed of 1
ch4aika [34]
Thank you for posting your question here. I hope the answer below will help.

Vo=110 feet per second
ho=2 feet
So, h(t) = -16t^2 +110t +2
Take the derivative: h'(t) = 110 -32t
The maximum height will be at the inflection when the derivative crosses the x-axis aka when h'(t)=0.
So, set h'(t)=0 and solve for t:
0 = 110 -32t
-110 = -32t
t=3.4375
t=3.44 seconds
