What discoveries and circumstances led to the scientific revolution and helped spread its impact

There are actually many discoveries that contributed towards the scientific revolution. One of the more prominent discoveries that has been made at the beginning of this shift was that the Earth actually revolves around the Sun and not the other way around. This shift to the heliocentric system was one of the earliest "victories" for the scientific notion.
