1. North Korea

The Soviet Union and its allies were Communists and so was North Korea so they supported North Korea so the government could retain control.

2. South Korea

South Korea was more democratic and capitalist which the US and its allies were so they supported south Korea so that system of government would continue.

3. South Vietnam

The US and its allies supported South Vietnam for the same reason as South Korea above. To protect Capitalism.

4. North Vietnam and Viet Cong

North Vietnam and the Viet Cong were Communist so the Soviets and their allies supported them to protect Communism.

5. Mujahideen

The United States and her allies supported and contributed military aid to the Mujahideen so that they could defeat the Soviets who were fighting in Afghanistan on behalf of the Communist government.

6. Communist Government.

The Soviet Union was Communist and so supported the Communist government of Afghanistan.
