Correct answer: y = 3x -5

You don't have to use the whole table in order to find equation. You can use just two points on the table to start.

In order to find the slope, the formula for that is: \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2} - x_{1}}. So, we can start with points (1, -2) and (2, 1). Label (1, -2) as x_{1} and y_{1}; label (2, 1) as x_{2} and y_{2}. Now we can plug the numbers into the formula.

\frac{1-(-2)}{2 - 1} → \frac{3}{1} → 3 is the slope.

To find the y-intercept, substitute (1, -2) into y = 3x + b.

(-2) = 3(1) + b

-2 = 3 + b

-3   -3

________

b = -5 is the y-intercept.

Thus, the slope-intercept equation is y = 3x -5. Hope this helps :) Let me know if you have any other questions related to this problem!

Answer: Y=-5x+3

Step-by-step explanation:

first slope= 0 on the x axis so -2-3=-5

to get 3 you can do 4-1=3 or 7-4 or even 1-(-2)!

Kelsey had $65 to spend on books. Each book cost $5.50, and there was a $7.50 fee for shipping. She let b equal the number of bo
GuDViN [60]

Answer:

Let the number of books she can purchase = b

The cost of each book is $5.5 with an extra shipping of $7.5

So, the total cost of the books she can purchase = 5.5b+7.5

Since, she had $65 to spend on the books.

The required inequality is 5.5b+7.5\leq 65.

So, according to the inequality above, we get,

The correct options are,

B. The inequality symbol is incorrect because she can spend up to and including $65.

C. The expression  5.5b+7.5 is correct because $5.50 per book is  5.5b and that is added to the shipping fee of $7.50 to determine the total purchase price.
