"The Raven" is one of the most popular poems of Edgar Allan Poe for its musicality and use of stylized language. The poem comprises of eighteen stanzas with six lines each and written in "trochaic octameter". Trochaic octameter includes four trochees, i.e. four pairs of a stressed and unstressed syllable in one line. Poe adds rhythm to the poem with this structural formation that appeals to the taste of both the critiques as well as the people. Thus, <em>rhythm in the lines displays 'trochee' as each line in the poem includes eight trochaic feet(four pairs of trochees) in it.</em>
