The communal toilets in ancient Rome were located in full view of the public. The toilets were accessible to passersby. They were situated in a room with a round hole carved onto a stone or wooden seat. There was water flowing underneath the toilet.
After using the latrine, users cleaned up with a stick which had a sponge attached to it. Private residences also had toilets that were located close to the kitchen.
Egypt is in Africa. However, it's attached to Southwest Asia at Suez. Because of its ancient history, governance by ancient Greece, and later by Britain, it has strong ties with Europe.
