I want to determine the number of syllables in the word cordial. The reference material that would be more useful for is the dictionary. A dictionary is a ready reference information source that contains words with their meanings that are arrange in alphabetical order for easy access and retrieval. The words in the dictionary also contains the correct syllabication of the word, the correct spelling, the part of speech the word belongs and of course the definition of the words.
