Explain the emotional contrast between the sailor and the people on the dock. What point is Whitman trying to emphasize by prese
nikklg [1K]

Answer:

In Walt Whitman's poem "O Captain! My Captain!," the emotional contrast between the sailors and the people is expressed by irony, which is the language that means the opposite of what is said. In that matter, the sailors are miserable because they have just come from war and the captain has died. However, the people on the deck do not know what actually happened during the war or that the captain has died, so they are simply contented that the war is over.

How and when does imagination imagination overcome reason
Rom4ik [11]
Imagination can overcome reason when for example a person is paranoid about someone or something and conjures up possible fearful situations or scenarios that could result from being in that situation or with such and such people when in fact the actual living of that situation is usually far less fearful than imagined but it can immobilize a person if he/she succumbs to their imagination.

Find the plural or possessive error. Select it and type it correctly. A star's gases' can burn for a long time
Nonamiya [84]

Answer:

A star's gases' can burn for a long time

Explanation:

The word marked in bold in the sentence above is the word that has an error. The correct thing would be to write the word "gases" without using the apostrophe (') after the last "S", since the apostrophe is used to cause the impression of possession and it has already been used, correctly in the word "Star's".
