Why were Jews and other "undesirables" first imprisoned in concentration camps in the early 1930s?
chubhunter [2.5K]
I believe was partly the result of WWI and the reparations that germany was forced to pay. Which led to the belief that the mentioned groups were responsible a.k.a scapegoating.

Later, they were deemed enemies of the state and hence rounded up and shipped off to labor camps where they were worked to death

Why is South Africa’s elections successful
mojhsa [17]
Although the African National Congress (ANC) registered its lowest electoral victory since the end of apartheid, the party still won 57.5 percent of the vote and retained control of eight of South Africa’s nine provinces. At the same time, opposition to the ANC grew both on the far left and the far right: Julius Malema’s populist Economic Freedom Front (EFF) increased its share of the vote from 6.4 percent in 2014 to 10.8 percent, from 26 members of parliament to 44. Given its youthful base and Malema’s rhetorical skills, this trend is likely to continue. The Freedom Front Plus (FF+), whose base is made up largely of white voters on the far right, scored its largest percentage of the vote (2.4 percent) since 1994.

What were the hittites and the phoenicians famous for
mrs_skeptik [129]
The Hittits were people who are in present time known for their rivalry to Israelite. Asia minor was captured by them in about 1700 BC and from there they expanded a civilization and culture which was even alarming for the great empire of well established Egypt, another reason they are known for.

Phoenicians were known for their trade skills as well as for their religious rites and practices. Their religion was Canaanite. In about 1050 BC the first written alphabets were used by Phoenicians and it became the most widely used writing system through their merchants and trade.

How did the Kansas Nebraska act push Texas to secession? please help answer in a complete sentence
dolphi86 [110]

Answer:

Texas shared the position of other slave states regarding the future of new territories  and new states. It wanted the expansion of slavery.  Southern states advocated a popular sovereignty solution, that is, new states to be admitted to the Union should choose by themselves. The 1854 Kansas-Nebraska Act was a political compromise. Nevertheless, Texas had important objections. In a speech in the Senate delivered on February 15, 1854, Texan leader Sam Houston lists two important obstacles: Nebraska had a too small population in order to sustain organization , and Kansas was a land with very few white settlers and entirely occupied by Native tribes.
