Rising action includes the plot details that build to the climax. For example, if someone decides to steal a painting (climax), the rising action would be the plan, potentially their motive, and include a reason for revenge — if applicable.
Main ideas are often found at the beginning of paragraphs. The first sentence often explains the subject being discussed in the passage. Main ideas are also found in the concluding sentences of a paragraph.
