Between A.D. 600 and 1150, all the following native cultures developed in the American Southwest except Choctaw.

Local native cultures throughout the USA are high-quality for their wide variety and diversity of lifestyles, regalia, artwork paperwork, and ideals. The lifestyle of indigenous North the USA is commonly described by way of the concept of the Pre-Columbian way of life place, particularly a geographical area in which shared cultural trends occur.

The consensus is that on every occasion possible, local humans favor being known by means of their particular tribal name. inside the u.s.a., local American has been extensively used however is falling out of favor with a few organizations, and the terms American Indian or Indigenous American are preferred by using many native humans.

What beliefs are shared by Muslims, Jews, and Christians? What are a few differences between each?
maria [59]
They all believe in one God, their holy book derives from the Torah somewhat, they generally have the same ethics (don’t kill, don’t steal etc.)

However, Jews are still waiting for a messiah, Christians are waiting for the Messiah Jesus to come again, and Muslims are a bit of a mix, Messianism is alien to Sunni Islam but it is a central belief in Shia Islam.

describe the middle passage and how the slave trade would negatively affect the later development of africa
taurus [48]

The Middle Passage was the crossing from Africa to the Americas, which the ships made carrying their ‘cargo’ of slaves. It was so-called because it was the middle section of the trade route taken by many of the ships. The first section (the ‘Outward Passage’ ) was from Europe to Africa. Then came the Middle Passage, and the ‘Return Passage’ was the final journey from the Americas to Europe. The Middle Passage took the enslaved Africans away from their homeland. They were from different countries and different ethnic (or cultural) groups. They spoke different languages. Many had never seen the sea before, let alone been on a ship. They had no knowledge of where they were going or what awaited them there. The slaves were packed below the decks of the ship. The men were usually shackled together in pairs using leg irons, or shackles. Some leg irons are pictured here. The men were considered dangerous, as they were mostly young and strong and likely to turn on their captors if the opportunity arose. People were packed so close that they could not get to the toilet buckets, and so lay in their own filth. Seasickness, heat and lack of air all contributed to the terrible smell. These conditions also encouraged disease, particularly fever and the ‘bloody flux’ or gastroenteritis (a serious stomach bug). The voyage usually took six to eight weeks, but bad weather could increase this to 13 weeks or more. This engraving (a type of print) of the slave ship the Brookes, from Liverpool, shows the slaves packed into the hold of the ship. It shows 295 enslaved Africans, this was the legal number the ship could carry after a change in the law. The Dolben Act of 1788 regulated the number of slaves according to the size of the ship. On a previous voyage the Brookes had carried 609. If you look carefully at the Brookes picture, you can see the leg irons shackling the men together at the ankle.

How did the Reconquista lead to the Spanish Inquisition?
alekssr [168]

On December 31, 1492, the Catholic Kings signed in Granada a proclamation to expel Jews from the Kingdom of Castile. Ferdinand II also signed another document relating to Jews in the Kingdom of Aragon. The justification for this measure was given on the basis of a document produced by the Chief Inquisitor and personal confessor of Queen Isabella of Castile, Fr Tomas de Torquemada, a few days earlier. The arguments were purely religious in nature: measures are being taken to preserve the unity and spread the Catholic faith, because, according to numerous reports by various priests, Jews are in every way trying to assent Christians to Judaism.

Explanation:

  • Reconquista is a period in the history of the Iberian Peninsula from 8th to 15th Century.
  • The Spanish and Portuguese conquered their lands, occupied by the Arabs since 711.
  • While in Portugal the Reconquista ended as early as the mid 13th Century, In Spain it lasted until the conquest of Granada in 1492.
