By its terms, Mexico ceded 55 percent of its territory, including parts of present-day Arizona, California, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah, to the United States. Mexico relinquished all claims to Texas, and recognized the Rio Grande as the southern boundary with the United States.

Before 1890 lynching was a tool used to enforce the law on any particular racial group. However after 1890, lynching became a racialized tool used against blacks due to suppressed economic times. This is most reflected in the correlation between lynching rates and debt collection deadlines. Thus lynching post-1890 was reserved for blacks as a new symbol of Jim crow justice and ideology. Shifting majority of lynching away from other races and onto black peoples specifically.

The golden age of China and the Islamic Arab Empire were alike in such that both empires were able to spread religion on the trade routes, and both empires prospered because of trade; however, Islam had much more of an impact on government than Buddhism in the golden age China did.
