Answer:

Newton's 2nd Law says that an object accelerates if there is a net (unbalanced) force on it. Looking at the wagon in the diagram above, you can see that there is just one force exerted on the wagon - the force that the horse exerts on it. The wagon accelerates because the horse pulls on it!

First, you want to bring everything together on the top of the fraction. 
12=24/2 so you can have \frac{24+ \sqrt{35}+12-2 \sqrt{35} }{2}

Add like terms -- 12 +24 = 36       \sqrt{35}-2 \sqrt{35} = \sqrt{35}

Now we are at \frac{24+ \sqrt{35} }{2} Which is the lowest possible simplified version while remaining at exact value.
