Answer:

They have 48 cards.

Step-by-step explanation:

let s be the number of Shauntay's cards and j be the number of Jessica's cards.

The ratio of Shauntay's cards to Jessica's cards is 5 to 3, then

(1) \frac{s}{j} =\frac{5}{3}

After Shauntay gives Jessica 12 of her cards, both girls have the same number of cards, then

(2) s-12 =j+12.

From (2), we get s= j+24. If we put j+24 instead of s in (1) we get:

\frac{j+24}{j} =\frac{5}{3}

3×j+24×3 = 5×j  From this we get;

2×j=72  and j=36

After Shauntay gives Jessica 12 of her cards, Shauntay and Jessica would have 48 cards.

Answer:

94.2 cm

62.8 inch

Step-by-step explanation:

The circumference of a circle is 2πr, where r is the radius.

The diamater is twice the radius, d=2r.

1) 2π·15 ≈ 94.2 cm

2) r = 10 inch. 2π·10 = 62.8 inch.

Answer:

\large\boxed{Surface\ Area=63\ cm^2}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have

square  with sides <em>s = 3cm</em>

four triangles with base <em>b = 3cm</em> and height <em>h = 9cm</em>.

The formula of an area of a square:

A_\square=s^2

The formula of an area of a triangle:

A_\triangle=\dfrac{bh}{2}

Substitute:

A_\square=3^2=9\ cm^2\\\\A_\triangle=\dfrac{(3)(9)}{2}=\dfrac{27}{2}=13.5\ cm^2

The Surface Area:

S.A.=A_\square+4A_\triangle\\\\S.A.=9+4(13.5)=9+54=63\ cm^2

Are the two figures below similar? If so, how do you know?
artcher [175]
No because the scale factor is inconsistent while it would be neccecary to be consistent if it was similar. 19.9/15.3=1.3 while 29/25=1.16 which proves that they have an inconsistent scale factor.
