The correct answer is C. spaceships.

Science fiction is a literary genre that deals with the things that we don't really have at the moment, but can imagine them - things such as spaceships, sentient robots, space battles, space explorations, space travel, distant planets and alien species, etc.

Given that we already have and use helicopters, boats, horse carts, and cars, we can safely deduce that these modes of transportation are not science fiction because they are real. On the other hand, we don't have spaceships, which makes them an element of science fiction stories.

Answer: C. Spaceships.

Explanation: science fiction is a fiction (a story with imaginary events and people) based on imagined future scientific or technological advances and major social or environmental changes, frequently portraying space or time travel and life on other planets.  From the given options, the modes of transportation that we would most likely find in a science fiction story are spaceships.

Is “criteria” an irregular plural noun?
Alekssandra [29.7K]
A plural noun indicates that there is more than one of that noun (while a singular noun indicates that there is just one of the noun). ... Regular plurals follow this rule (and other similar rules), but irregular plurals are, well, not regular and don't follow a “standard” rule.
