Why was the ratification of the 3/5ths Compromise so important to the new nation?
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

The north had more people than the south during this time, so the south saw it as unfair because the north would receive more representatives in the house of representatives than the south, resulting in more votes for the north. So the 3/5 compromise was made to count 3/5 of the slaves so the south could receive more representatives in the house of representatives.

How did the Roman Catholic Church respond to the spread of Protestantism?
spayn [35]

Answer:

C

Explanation:

In response to the 95 theses of Martin Luther, which birthed the Protestant movement, further criticism arose towards the Catholic Church. This resulted in reform and clarification of its teachings because the issues were actually being called out on a large scale, and the reforms ultimately benefitted the church morally.

What symbols/objects, if any, are used in the cartoon?
coldgirl [10]

Hi?the Cartoon is been portrayed as a beastly figure because, like the Blacks in the 19th century, Irish immigrants were not welcomed in most communities in the United States. The beastly caricature of the Irish man also portray him as angry, could be because of the competition for jobs between newly arrived Blacks from Southern plantations. It is also not surprising for the appearance and behavior of the Irish Caricature, during this juncture in American History, Irish men were been forcefully conscripted in the Union army to fight what they considered as a “Black man’s war” (New Yorker, October 1998).
