The effects of the passage is that she wrote her own sorrow and reflected herself as a eccedentesiast, and that she is tired of hiding her emotions as they slowly leak through a wall she built by herself.

“Around me everything was dancing a dance of death.”
sesenic [268]

Answer:

<em>"Around me everything was dancing a dance of death" </em>is a "personification" when it comes to<em> figurative language</em>. It means that people around Elie Wiesel were dying and nobody paid attention nor cared.

Explanation:

The situation above happened during "Night 84."

At this time, Elie was exhausted from marching in the snow that<em> he fell asleep for a long time</em> when they were finally told to rest. He was only awakened when <u>his father's frozen fingers patted on his cheeks.</u> His father wanted him to wake up because they were to march again.<em> Sleeping would mean dying in the snow. </em>Thus, Elie described the situation happening around him with the figurative language above. It is a personification because it gives human being personality to "death" that it can dance <em>("dance of death").</em>

**EXTRA POINTS**
marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

Anticipation feels like that patient ticking of a clock. It sounds of a train passing by your stop. It looks like a million pictures all shaped together into a human-like creature. It smells like a classic movie scene about Nana's Homemade Pie. It tastes like the plastic of your pen as you chew on it, waiting for class to be over.

It is truly something. Not defined, yet everywhere. Not meaningless, yet treated as if it has not a statement to please. Its weird, anticipation. It feels like the word itself is a world of its own. Yet, it is simply a letter in a alphabet of manmade print made to simply communicate with one another.

Except for a few pigeons, Central Park was deserted. Mist hung above the chilled grass. Patches of old
stepan [7]
I would say the best answer is A, he hides behind a tree. I was in between A and D, but one can run in a park.

B wouldn't work because him being dressed in ordinary street clothes doesn't show that he's afraid of something.

C wouldn't work because although yes, he was panting, that could mean that he's just tired; not necessarily, scared.

The man hiding behind the tree is the best evidence for the conclusion of him being afraid of something. Also in the passage it states, "....he moved behind a tree. Seeming not to notice my presence, he stood with his back against the trunk, panting."

Technology cons social media/teenagers
marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

1. Social media is fake.

2. Social media can lead to stress and anxiety.

3. Social media can allow people to become victims of online harassment, cyber bullying, and solicitation.

Explanation:

1. Social media is fake. People use filters, and you never see the behind the scenes. When they post something that may make you jealous, don't be. People on social media only post things that make them look good, and don't post the others. Don't believe everything you see, because they could be as insecure as you are (if you are insecure).

2. Social media can lead to stress and anxiety. Social Networking states, “31% of teens who use social media have fought with a friend because of something that happened online.” (procon.org). This proves that social media can ruin your relationships with others, which can give you a lot of stress. Another article Social Networking states,“Students who used social media while studying scored 20% lower on tests…” (procon.org) This demonstrates that social media can be very addictive and can lead to bad grades.

3. Social media can allow people to become victims of online harassment, cyber bullying, and solicitation. Although you may not be getting bullied in person, social media allows someone to bully you through a screen easily. Sometimes, the person bullying you could be someone across the globe. So, there would be a higher chance of you getting bullied with social media than without it.
