In an interview with The New York Times, Amanda Gorman said, "Now more than ever, the United States needs an inaugural poem. Poe

try is typically the touchstone that we go back to when we have to remind ourselves of the history that we stand on, and the future that we stand for." What do you think she means? How does poetry capture our feelings or attitudes in a way that traditional speeches or writing does not?

Answer: When writing poetry, you not only showing or saying how you feel, but you connect with the readers. Your audience can read each word, and feel as though, they are you. Traditional writing sticks to rules that the laws of English demand. Poetry does not simply follow them, poetry is what we feel, it's what a writer is. When written one can see that the writer does not make the words, but the words make the writer.

1. He asked me, "Why is she crying?"<br>into passive sentences <br>
Snowcat [4.5K]

She is crying. The verb cry is both transitive and intrsitive. As "cry" is intransitive or there's no object in the sentence presented, you cannot change the sentence into the passive voice. Look at the following example in which the cry has been used as a transitive verb: The mother cried tears of joy when she found her child.
