Answer:

Translating to the question, the toy's value as a function of time is

t = ab^{w}

To determine constants a and b, we use points given by graph.

First, (0,5) to find a:

5= a.b^{0}

a = 5

Now, (3,10) to determine b:

10=5b^{3}

b=\sqrt[3]{2}

b = 1.26

The toy's value as a function of time in weeks is t = 5.(1.26)^{w}

Writing out: 4 to the power of negative 3 multiplied by 3 to the power of 4 multiplied by 4 to the power of 2 whole over 3 to the power of 5 multiplied by 4 to the power of negative 2

(4^(-3) * 3^4 * 4*2) / (3^5 * 4^(-2))

= (4^(-3+2) * 3^4) * 3^(-5) * 4^2

= 4^(1) * 3^(-1)

= 4/3

If sin a = - 4/5<br>and cos a &gt; 0, find tan a and sec a.
Nina [5.8K]

Answer:

tan(a) = -4/3

sec(a) = 5/3

Step-by-step explanation:

sine is opposite over hypotenuse.  so no we have a triangle with a hypotenuse of 5 and an opposite side relative to some angle a of -4.  the hypotenuse is never negative.

so draw a right triangle, mark one of the non right angles as a then the side opposite to that is -4 and the hypotenuse is 5.  use the pythagorean theorem to find the remaining angle.  The result could be positive or negative, but the questions specifically tells us we want the positive version.

b^2 + -4^2 = 5^2

b = 3

tangent is opposite over adjacent.  for a we know the opposite is 3now so tan(a) = -4/3

Now, secant is 1/cos, so lets find cos(a)

cos is adjacent over hypotenuse, and we jsut found the adjacent is 3.  so cos(a) = 3/5

Now 1/cos(a) = hypotenuse over adjacent so 5/3

The sum of Two consecutive integers is 57. If x is the first integer, write and solve an equation to determine both numbers what
NikAS [45]
Because these are two consecutive numbers and the first integer is x, the second integer must be x+1 (it could be x-1 too, but here I'm going to solve the problem with x+1).

The sum of the two integers is 57, so we have:
x+ (x+1)= 57
⇒ (x+ x)+ 1= 57 (associative property)
⇒ 2x+ 1= 57
⇒ 2x= 57-1
⇒ 2x= 56
⇒ x= 56/2
⇒ x= 28

Since x= 28, the first integer is 28, and the second integer is:
x+1= 28+1= 29

The two numbers are 28 and 29.

Hope it helps.
