Analyze the impact of the Haitian Revolution. What were its causes? How did it affect later revolutions? (1 paragraph, 5-7 sente
Rudik [331]

Impact : The Haitian Revolution had many international repercussions. It ended Napoleon's attempts to create a French empire in the Western Hemisphere and arguably caused France to decide to sell its North American holdings to the United States (the Louisiana Purchase)—thus enabling the expansion of slavery into that territory.

The social instability of Saint Domingue was the leading factor in the Haitian revolution, as it caused political unrest within the colony. ... In political terms, the French Revolution aided in giving rights to slaves, and therefore causing anger and hatred between these different social classes.

Explain how the Marshall Plan and the Berlin airlift aided the US in achieving their post-war goals.
jasenka [17]

Answer:

The Marshall plan helped prevent the turn to communism of Western Europe, which was a possiblity, especially in Italy and France, where communist parties where very strong.

The logic of the Marshall plan was to help rebuild and develop Western Europe, to show them the benefits of capitalism and a market economy, and prevent like that, the spread of communism from Eastern Europe.

This goal was achieved because no Western European country turned to communism since the end fo the World War, even when socialist and communist parties got to power.

The goal of the Berlin airlift was to prevent a shortage of goods in West Berlin after the Soviet Union blocked supplies to the city.

The Soviet Union wanted to force the US to abandon the city by blocking Berlin, since the Soviet Union dominated all areas sorrounding Berlin. However, the US was able to keep control of West Berlin by supplying the city through air.

Maintaining control of West Berlin was very important for the US for both strategic and symbolic reasons, and the success of the Berlin airlift was a crucial part of the strategy.

Andreas93 [3]
When he got the nomination from the anti-slavery Republican Party in 1860, the South was very concerned. The South had made up its mind. They believed Lincoln would end slavery. However, if they would have listened closely to Lincoln, he had said if he could keep the country together by keeping slavery, he would do so.
And

For the most part, states in the South reacted with anger to Lincoln's victory in the election of 1860. The major issue of the 1860 presidential election was slavery. For Southerners, expanding slavery was the critical issue. Slavery was so pressing that the Democratic party put forth two candidates.
