THis is a binomial distribution:-

P( 3 tails) = 15C3 (0.5)^3(0.5)^12

=  0.0139

P(5 tails) = 15C5 (0.5)^5(0.5)^10

= 0.0916

P(3 or 5) = 0.0139 + 0.0916 = 0.1055  Answer

Number of times = 15

\text {Probability of tails exactly 5 times :}
\left(\begin{array}{cc}15\\3\end{array}\right) \bigg( \dfrac{1}{2} \bigg)^{15} =  \dfrac{3003}{32768}

\text {Probability of tails exactly 3 times :}
\left(\begin{array}{cc}15\\3\end{array}\right) \bigg( \dfrac{1}{2} \bigg)^{15} = \dfrac{455}{32768}

Total probability:
\dfrac{3003}{32768} +  \dfrac{455}{32768} =  \dfrac{1729}{16384}  = 0.11 \text {  \sqrt{x} (nearest hundred)}

schepotkina [342]

Answer:

24) A

22) B

Step-by-step explanation:

24)

Original Price: d

Sale: 30%

A sale means that a value is subtracted from the original price

d - 30% = 0.7d

All options given:

A) 0.3d

B) 0.7d

C) d - 0.3d = 0.7d

D) (1.0 - 0.3)d = 0.7(d) = 0.7d

All of these options are equal to the price after the sale, except A.

A is the answer to question 24

22)  m > 0, n > 0    Use an example to represent m and n

m = 1,  n = 2 = -0.5

-0.5 is a rational, negative number

The answer to question 22 is B

Hope this helps :)

Which answer choice do I choose?
Ratling [72]
The second answer is correct because in order for the ordered pairs to represent a function, there can only be 1 y value for every x value. The second option has 2 different y values for x = 3 so it is not a function.
The answer is the second option.

I have an image of the problem
dybincka [34]

Find the area of the circle:

Area = 3.14 x 12^2 = 3.24x144 = 452.16 cm^2

The sector is 60 degrees.

Multiply the area of the circle by the fraction of the sector:

452.16 x 60/360 = 75.36 cm^2
