How can solar power be tested? what meterials will you need?

You can test it many was, but simply hooking up a solar panel of your chose to a simple object such as a light bulb could work (Use wires). There are also things that you can connect that will tell if there is power and how much. You need a solar panel or your way of gathering sun light, sun, and a simple object something that can determine the power.
