The concept of predestination was a major part of Calvinism.

Predestinations refers to a doctrin in Calvinism which deals with the question of the control that God exercises over the world. According to the Westminster Confession of Faith God "freely and unchangeably ordained whatsoever comes to pass." Besides, predestination also makes reference to the belief that God appointed the eternal destiny of some to salvation by grace.
