On May 5th 1862 the French withdrew their troops from Mexico due to the Mexican victory of the battle of Puebla. Some US cities that celebrate Cinco De Mayo are San Diego, Tucson, Phoenix, Houston. These cities celebrate this due to their Mexican heritage.
