This is a complex yet highly overlooked theme. Society, or at least a majority of society believes that because we are young, we will not be exposed to such abusive relationships, whether it is intimate or not. Abuse can come in any form, physical, verbal, emotional, and psychological. It's important for our teens to understand how to identify these abuses, and be prepared to act accordingly. If we are not able to identify any type of abuse when in a relationship, the victim will grow accustomed to it and/or eventually accept it as a punishment ("I deserve it" mentality).
