What causes Samuel's feelings to change from confusion and fear to anger and hate at the end of "Samuel's Memory"?
Ipatiy [6.2K]

At the end of "Samuel's Memory, Samuel's feelings change from confusion and fear to anger and hate because his mother dies and he feels that he is all alone (C).

EXPLANATION

Samuel’s Memory is a true story. A true story based on a 9-year-old Cherokee Indian boy. This story tells Samuel’s journey with his family on the Trail of Tears. The story begins with the arrival of white soldiers to his house, they come with firearms trying to drive Samuel's family from their home. The little Samuel could only be scared and confused. Long story short they were driven out of the house. On their way to the Trail of Tears, they had a hard journey.

The weather that was torturing the body finally caused Samuel's mother to die. His mother's death made Samuel angry and hated those who were white. White people are only concerned with skin color and race. Michael Rutledge, who was the great-grandson of Samuel, retell this story through his writing entitled Forgiveness in the Age of Forgetfulness.
