Osmosis (pick the incorrect statement) Osmosis is the passive transport of water from an area of low solute concentration to an

area of high solute concentration. The movement of water across a cell membrane requires transmembrane integral proteins. The osmotic pressure between two compartments is determined by the relative concentrations of the permeant solutes in the compartments. Cells regulate water and ion balance by actively transporting ions but not water.

Answer:

First one's wrong.

Explanation:

Osmosis is the net movement of water molecules from a high to low concentration through a partially permeable memberane. NOT the passive transport of water from an area of low solute concentration to an area of high solute concentration!

Answer:

Cells regulate water and ion balance by actively transporting ions but not water.

Explanation:

Cells regulate water and ion balance by transporting the water molecules from a region of of high concentration to a region of low concentration passively. Active transport does not maintain the water and ion balance, so the last statement is incorrect.

Rest of the statements are correct.

In the first statement they are saying that in osmosis water from an area of low solute concentration moves towards an area of high solute concentration which is absolutely right. An area which has a low solute concentration has a high solvent concentration and vice versa. In osmosis, only solvent can move because osmosis occurs by means of a semi permeable membrane which does not let a solute molecule to pass by. So the area where solute is less, solvent is more and this solvent tends to move towards an area which has high solute concentration because a high solute concentration will have low solvent concentration .

Second statement is also correct. water cannot cross cell membrane because water is polar while cell membrane is non polar. Non polar cell membrane does not let water to pass through it because water is polar therefore water requires integral proteins named as aquaporins to cross cell membrane.

Statement third is also correct. The osmotic pressure is a measure of solute concentration of a particular compartment. The less is the solute in a compartment, the more will be the osmotic pressure. That simply means that osmotic pressure of a pure solvent will be highest because it does not have solute at all. In contrast to this, a solution will have comparatively low osmotic pressure because of the presence of solute in it.

nasty-shy [4]

Answer: Bb/bb (let's take letter B this time, just for no reason since it does not matter :) )

Explanation:

if the ryan's genotype is Bb, alexa's genoype is BB, then the genotype ryan's biological father is either Bb, or bb

Scorpion4ik [409]

The amount of ozone and particle concentrations in a given area are influenced by a variety of weather-related factors, therefore the weather can have a significant impact on air quality.

What influences the air's quality?

The quality of the air is influenced by a variety of climate-related elements, including temperatures, cloud cover, humidity, precipitation frequency and intensity, wind patterns, and others.

In India, more than 90% of people live in areas where the air quality is below WHO limits. The biggest sources of pollution are factories, coal-fired power plants, and automobiles.

Synthesizing antibodies

Explanation:

 • Antibodies are have proteins that are created by the insusceptible framework because of remote atoms that enter the body. These outside particles are called antigens, and their atomic acknowledgment by the safe framework brings about particular creation of antibodies that can tie the particular antigen. Antibodies are made by B-lymphocytes and circle all through the blood and lymph where they tie to their particular antigen, empowering it to be cleared from dissemination.
 • Antibodies are explicit proteins that perceive almost any substance structure. During in vivo vaccination B cells are enacted by antigen. Antigen‐specific cells multiply and some separate into antibody‐secreting plasma cells. Quickly, B cells with explicitness for a realized antigen were combined with myeloma to make them everlasting. Hybridomas develop in culture uncertainly and emit monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) of an ideal particularity. Hybridoma innovation and counter acting agent building have contributed in Biomedicine to the analysis of malignancies, tissue composing, distinguishing proof of individual cell types, identification of cytokines, development variables and hormones.
