Why was Korea permanently separated into two countries after the Korean War?

China controlled North Korea, and the US controlled South Korea.

Explanation:

Korea was initially a victim of cold war that occurred between USSR and United States. Both of them wanted a strong foothold in East Asia and Korea exist in a very strategic location. Both fronts did not want to lose Korea to the other.

USSR started to poured in their soldiers to North Korea and United States did the same to South Korea to fully gain control over this territory. Since USSR did not have a strong military's foothold in this territory, so they asked China to help with the war.

In the end, the war ended up in stalemate.

North and South Korea agreed that it's better for them to be separated with one another and run their territories with different ideologies (North Korea with communism+ Strong influence from China and South Korea with capitalism + Strong influence from United States. )
