Read the fable. Using details from the text, evaluate the theme of the fable. Explain the theme in two to three sentences. "The

Dog and the Shadow" A Dog, crossing a bridge over a stream with a piece of fish in his mouth, saw his own shadow in the water and took it for that of another Dog, with a piece of meat double his own in size. He immediately let go of his own, and fiercely attacked the other Dog to get his larger piece from him. He thus lost both: that which he grasped at in the water, because it was a shadow; and his own, because the stream swept it away.

Answer:

The theme of the Fable about the dog and the stream is all about greed. That the inability of one to contain his greed will lead to problems for the person in question.

This could be seen in the dog losing the piece of fish in his mouth just because of seeing his shadow that projected an image of him having a bigger portion. On the long run, being contented with the little the person has is far better than being greedy.

Paraphrase each of the following passagaes, which may contain more than one argument"Space contains such a huge supply of atoms
FromTheMoon [43]

Old passage:

"Space contains such a huge supply of atoms that all eternity would not be enough time to count them and count the forces which drive the atoms into various places just as they have been driven together in this world. So we must realize that there are other worlds in other parts of the universe with races of different men and different animals"

Answer (Paraphrased Passage):

Mathematically speaking, it is impossible to count the forces which distribute and regulate the activities of the atoms that make up our planet how much more the vastness of space.

Because of this we have come to a realistic assumption that on the balance of probability life must exist in other parts of the universe besides ours the form of a different kind of men and animals.

Cheers!

When a poet wishes to use figurative language, he or she will use words that are
erastovalidia [21]
The correct answer is A. both connotative and denotative.

There will be a lot of words where the denotative meaning should actually be ignored and the connotative observed, but that does not mean that both are not present.
