Answer:

By removing the apices of the plant

Explanation:

A plant can be manipulated into becoming more bushy by removing the apices of its shoots.

A plant hormone called auxin which promotes cell elongation and plays a huge role in the maintenance of apical dominance is usually produced at the tips (apices) of stems. When the tips are removed, auxin production is disrupted, and lateral buds that have been initially suppressed by the auxin production begin to flourish, leading to the plant becoming more bushy.

Hence, to trick the jade plant to become more bushy, just remove apices of the shoots the plant.

What happens to the sodium and potassium ions when the neurons are stimulated? How does their concentration inside and outside t
stepan [7]

The two sides of a nerve cell membrane have unequally distributed ions ( Na+ and K+). Sodium is inside, while potassium is outside. Carriers actively transport them. This active transport mechanism is called Sodium-Potassium Pump. Without stimulus, sodium channels are closed while some of the potassium channels are open.

Stimulus (depolarization) will cause the sodium channels to briefly open and the positively-charged ion diffuses into the nerve cell. The membrane potential becomes positive. The potassium channels open and positively-charged potassium diffuse out. With respect to the outside, the inside will become less positive again.
