Answer: 16 m by 12 m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: The length of garden l = 13 m

The width of the garden w= 9 m

The area of the rectangular garden is given by :-

\text{Area}=l\times w\\\Rightarrow\text{Area}=13\times9\\\Rightarrow\text{Area}=117\ m^2

It she wants to increase the garden,  the dimensions of the new garden will be (13+x) m by (9+x) m , then according to the question we have :-

(13+x)\cdot(9+x)=192\\\Rightarrow\ 117+x^2+22x=192\\\Rightarrow\ x^2+22x=75\\\Rightarrow\ x^2+22x-75=0\\\Rightarrow\ x^2+25x-3x-75=0\\\Rightarrow\ x(x+25)-3(x+25)=0\\\Rightarrow\ (x+25)(x-3)=0\\\Rightarrow\ x=-25\ x=3

Since, x\neq-25

Hence, x=3

Therefore, the  dimensions of the new garden will be (13+3) m by (9+3) m=16 m by 12 m.

9*13=117
12*16=192

We increased three meters to both the length and width of the garden.

If a/\2+1/a/\2=11, then a+1/a=?
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer:

\pm \sqrt{13}

Step-by-step explanation:

\bigg(a +  \frac{1}{a}  \bigg)^{2} =  {a}^{2}   +  \frac{1}{ {a}^{2} }  + 2 \times a \times  \frac{1}{a}  \\  \\ \bigg(a +  \frac{1}{a}  \bigg)^{2} = 11 + 2 \\  \\   \bigg(a +  \frac{1}{a}  \bigg)^{2} = 13 \\  \\  \bigg(a +  \frac{1}{a}  \bigg) =  \pm \sqrt{13}

A bag contains 10 red marbles, 7 green marbles. and 8 striped marbles. A marble is picked, then put back into bag. Find P(green
SIZIF [17.4K]

G = number of green = 7

S = number of striped = 8

T = number total = 10+7+8 = 25

probability of picking green = P(G) = G/T = 7/25

probability of picking striped = P(S) = S/T = 8/25

P(green and striped) = P(G)*P(S)  ... events are independent

P(green and striped) = (7/25)*(8/25)

P(green and striped) = (7*8)/(25*25)

P(green and striped) = 56/625

P(green and striped) = 0.0896

--------------------------------

In summary, the answer as a fraction is 56/625

In decimal form, the answer is 0.0896

The value 0.0896 can be converted to percent form to get 8.96%
