We describe the flow of costs in a process costing system and prepare appropriate journal entries to record costs. A process cos

ting system accumulates costs by department and assigns these costs uniformly to all units that pass through the department during a period. We also introduce the concept of equivalent units of production. Equivalent units is computed as the product of the number of partially completed units and the percentage completion of those units with respect to the processing in the department. We also learn about operation costing, a hybrid system, and understand how it differs from both job-order and process costing.

Explanation:

In this situation, China makes tablets and smartphones only. The equipment used to manufacture these two products is nearly the same, the same collection of tools is equally useful in manufacturing both smartphones and tablets. So there is the constant opportunity cost of both commodities.

Resources are similarly appropriate for the manufacturing of two varied goods at a constant opportunity cost.

Therefore, the opportunity costs for additional smartphone remains the same.

Serga [27]

Answer: Total Revenue is $100 and the price elasticity is 0.4

Explanation: total revenue is computed as Price * Quantity

$0.5 * 200= $100

Elasticity is the degree of responsiveness of quantity demanded to a change in price.

Old price $1

New price $0.5

Old quantity 75

New quantity 200

Formula- % change in quantity demanded / % change in pride

NB change is (old-new)

Change in Qd= (75-200) / 75 =-1.67

Change in price=(1-0.5)/1=0.5

-1.67/0.5= -3.34

The negative is ignored in price elasticity and the answer is 3.34 which means the product is Elastic
