There was a vast economic potential that had yet to be tapped by any other European power at this time in history, ironically enough when they did successfully reach China the Qin dynasty was already much more technologically advanced than the Europeans that had arrived and viewed their offer as invalid due to their perceived "backwardness" technologically.

 The Industrial Revolution improved the standards of living for most people, but resulted in tragic living and working conditions for the working class. During the Industrial Revolution, people began migrating to the cities for a better life, many found some however many still lived in poverty.
