Solve the system:
5y+8(x−3y)=7x−12
9x+3(x−9y)=11y+46
Pie

Answer:

5y+8(x-3y)=7x-12

5y+8x-24y=7x-12

8x-7x + 5y-24y= -12

X - 19y = - 12

9x+3(x-9y) =11y+46

9x+3x - 27y = 11y + 46

12x -27y - 11y = 46

12x - 38y = 46

Now joining together

X - 19y = - 12

12x - 38y = 46

Multiple by 12 the first equation and Substract after

12x - 228y = -144

12x - 38y = 46

- 190y = -98

Y = 1.9

12x - 38y = 46

12x - 38(1.9) = 46

12x - 73.67 = 46

12x = 46 + 73.67

12x = 119.67

X = 9.97

So the answer are :

X = 9.97

Y = 1.9

joe scored less than four times the amount of baskets peter scored. How many did they each score if l together they scored 32 ba
slava [35]

Let us assume the amount of baskets Joe scored = x baskets.

4 times of x is 4x.

4x+x = 5x.

Therefore, Peter scored = 5x.

Together they scored = 32 baskets.

Sum of Peter score and Joe score = 32.

x+5x = 32.

6x = 32.

Dividing both sides by 6, we get

x = 32/6

= 16/3.

x= 16/3.

Joe scored = 16/3 baskets.

Peter scored = 5 × 16/3 = 80/3 baskets.
