$8x-24=40$

$8x=40+24$

$8x=64$

Divide both sides by 8.

$x=8$

Now,

$DE=DF=40$        (Isosceles triangle)

$EF=6x+10$

$EF=6(8)+10$

$EF=48+10$

$EF=58$

Therefore, x=8, FE=58, DE =40 and DF = 40.

Hence, the incorrect statement is in option B. So, option B is correct.
