I want to get a gym membership but I am not sure which gym to go to. There are 2 gyms close to my house. Planet Fitness is doing

an "Getting into the Red Tier" sale of $40 month with no start-up fee. Anytime Fitness is not running deal, so it is $10 a month with a $180 start-up fee. When will these plans have the same total cost and what will that cost be?

balandron [24]
Here you have 2 linear equations and are to solve this system.  Both equations have already been solved for y, so you can set one of them = to the other one:

-2x+11 = -3x+21.

Then 3x-2x = 21 - 11, or         x = 10 (answer)

Find y by subst. x = 10 into either of the given equations.

Solution is then (10, ? )

stealth61 [152]

Answer:

1,-1,2,-2,3,-3,6,-6, 1/3, -1/3, 2/3, -2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Factors of the constant which are:

+1,-1,+2,-2,+3,-3,+6,-6

Also, these divided by the factors of the leading coefficient (3 in this case)

Factors of 3 are 1 & 3

Dividing by 1 will give the same values

Dividing by 3:

1/3,-1/3,2/3,-2/3,3/3,-3/3,6/3,-6/3

1/3,-1/3,2/3,-2/3,1,-1,2,-2

Distinct possibilities:

1,-1,2,-2,3,-3,6,-6, 1/3, -1/3, 2/3, -2/3
